So many people were happy they did not have to do the paperwork to itemize their deductions because of the increase of the federal standard deduction; not itemizing the deductions may cost you taxes on the Minnesota side!  Legislation was passed for the State of Minnesota to include itemized deductions!  This is a good thing as many taxpayers may have seen a break on the federal taxes only to pay more on state taxes.  We tried to warn many clients last year this may happen, so make sure you do the same work so we can make sure we do the work to help you make sure to only pay your fair share!
